Introducing The Public Brain

Author: Supriya Bains

In the Neuroscience Graduate Program, we are passionate about exploring the complexities of the brain and its profound role in shaping our thoughts, feelings, and behaviour.

NEUROSCI 700 with Dr. Kathy Murphy and the cohort of 2021, set the stage to understand the fundamentals of neuroscience and underscored the essential skill of scientific communication. What began as a class project in NEUROSCI 700, the COVID On The Brain podcast quickly grew into a meaningful exploration of the neurological and psychiatric effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. We featured leading experts such as Dr. Farooq Naeem, Dr. James MacKillop, Dr. Sasha Litwin and many others, who offered invaluable insights into how the pandemic reshaped our lives. Their expertise illuminated how the pandemic impacted brain function, helping us understand the intersection of public health and neuroscience during such a pivotal historical moment.
