BrainWaves: The Neuroscience Graduate Program Newsletter

About Brain Waves

BrainWaves is the official student-run newsletter of the Neuroscience Graduate Program at McMaster University. Since 2015, our goal has been simple: to connect, inspire, and showcase the voices of our community.

At the beginning and end of each semester, we bring you stories that highlight student research, share tips for navigating grad school, and shine a light on the creativity and achievements of our peers. Whether you’re here for science deep-dives, wellness reflections, or community spotlights, BrainWaves is your window into the life of MiNDS students.

Our Story
What started as a small initiative to keep students connected has grown into a vibrant publication that celebrates both the academic and personal sides of grad life. Over the years, BrainWaves has featured hundreds of contributions—everything from articles and interviews to artwork and survival guides — reflecting the diversity of our program.

Meet the Team
BrainWaves is run by a rotating team of graduate student volunteers who serve as editors, contributors, and designers. Each issue is truly a collective effort, shaped by the ideas and energy of the MiNDS community. More details about our team can be found here
